A further question about FC1 installation. I have downloaded the yarrow isos to a spare HD partition (not being used by any RH 9.0 file but formated Ext3)
Has anyone tried an installation of FC1 from such a location?

We use hard drive installations all the time. As long as you don't need that partition, it should work fine. You do need to boot from CD or floppy to get it started, and then choose a hard drive installation and point it to that partition.
