I had the same problem. What I did was to run up2date within X, and when the program told me that a package was corrupt, I chose to continue, so it kept downloading. When all packages were downloaded, I chose Cancel and run up2date again. I had to do it several times before all packages were clearly downloaded... and only then I could go on and install the packages.
