Panu, Thank you very much. I did not realize I was trying to use a package that would not work on RHL 9. I did try the one built for RHL 9, and successfully installed the apt application. Next I'll try to find where "sources.list" is and figure out how to point it to FC1 and run dist-upgrade... Thank you for the guidance. Since you're installing for RHL 9 then grab an apt version built for that, not FC1.
