If FC doesn't work out for you, maybe Red Hat 9 plus the Progeny support for
security updates will be better?

The folks who make Progeny (a Debian GNU/Linux distribution) are offering
security updates for Red Hat 7.2, 7.3, 8.0, and 9. Right now (through the
end of December, I believe) you can sign up for these updates for $5 per
machine per month (x86 machines only).

Maybe this will work for you?

Check out http://www.progeny.com/products/transition/ for details.
