I was soo happy when i got my first NFS share mounted.
Then it took me some minutes to unwhirl my synapses to conclude that the symlink data -> /mnt/data inside the newly mounted nfs share now pointed to my local /mnt/data. It caused a quite funny effect in a shellscript. :-}
Samba resolves symlinks transparent, is there a way to get nfs resolve symlinks as well?
Not to my knowledge. You should always use relative symlinks instead of absolute links.
