Hmm, my kernel definitely didn't detect it. Are you referring to 2.6 maybe? Now that is interesting. For me the install went fine, no errors at all, but when booting is just stops and does nothing (it's not locked up nor does it complain about not finding any system disk). Also, I'm not quite sure why I'm not able to reinstall grub into the drive's mbr. Booting from the boot diskette created at the end of the install works fine.
