These instructions are exactly what helped get me going! NVidia binary driver 1.0 users please note: Because it is closed source, the NVidia binary driver can not be supported by Fedora, and may cause system lockups with 2.4.22 kernels (distro does not matter). NVidia binary driver users should check the "NVidia Linux Support Forum" link on the "NVidia Linux Drivers" download page. There are two major threads of interest... a thread for Fedora Core 1 users which has links to an RPM distribution of the 1.0-4496 binary drivers that do not require the CC=gcc32 workaround and run on FC1 with the 2129 kernel. The other thread is about 1.0-4496 drivers and lockups on the 2.4.22+ kernels which affect all distros using those kernels. If lockups persist, you might consider removing the NVidia binary driver and using the XFree86 NV driver and seeing if the problem reoccurs. If you still have lockups while using the NV driver, XFree86 has support links for users of the NV driver which may help resolve the problem, or Fedora users here may be able to help.
