True, but the assignment for "dev" above also casts this void * to
struct net_device *:
dev = (struct net_device *)
(((long)p + NETDEV_ALIGN_CONST) & ~NETDEV_ALIGN_CONST);
dev->padded = (char *)dev - (char *)p;
Shall I remove my cast?
