Probably you need to do this:

# lvm
lvm> vgchange -ay VolGroup00
lvm> exit
 
If I were you, I'd also take the opportunity to rename the VG to
something a bit more indicative of what is on it.  eg.

          vgrename VolGroup00 vg_f10

(This needs to be done before the "vgchange".)
