Well... to be honest I'm not exactly sure when it broke. I should've
been clear about that.

I tend to use it sporadically. I used it back in January and didn't
notice any problems, and I used it last July and definitely didn't have
a problem.

Here are the updates:

# grep -i audacity /var/log/yum.log*
/var/log/yum.log.1:Nov 04 14:20:46 Updated: audacity.i386 1.2.5-2.fc5
/var/log/yum.log.1:Nov 14 12:18:28 Updated: audacity.i386 1.2.5-3.fc5
/var/log/yum.log.2:Jun 09 21:05:34 Installed: audacity.i386 1.2.4-0.2.b.lvn5
/var/log/yum.log.2:Jun 21 16:24:25 Installed: audacity.i386 1.2.4-0.1.b.fc5

Can you go back to 1.2.4-0.2.b.lvn5 and try to reproduce the problem?

There's also Audacity 1.2.6 at Livna (mirrored here):

Further, what do you get for

  rpm --query --whatprovides libwx_gtk-2.4.so.0
  echo $LANG

I have compiled 1.3.2 and it works fine. I'm just not comfortable with
some aspects of 1.3.

It's a beta version with (apparently) lots of visible and hidden problems.
