if you vmware starts up, means the configureation is ok. that indicates the
problem is with your virtual machine. check your virtual machine directory,
if there are WRITELOCK files or unfinished virtua machine etc.

to be sure, you may just restart vmware. most times, any-any-update can deal
with configuration problems.



No, VMWare is not starting up. The service starts up at boot, but I
cannot open ~/bin/vmware. I'm not trying to open a machine, either,
just to get the program started. There is no output generared to the
console, either.

I did run any-any-update, it did not change the situation.
