I suggested:

Well, if it's running a Fedora kernel,
grep CONFIG_HZ /boot/config-$(uname -r)
will tell you.

Hmm. I run FC2, and that produced nothing.
I tried CONFIG_HERTZ and other variations,
but couldn't find anything.

Yes, that's because you're running FC2. The latest kernel release at
Fedora Legacy for FC2 is 2.6.10. FC5 came with 2.6.15.

Config_HZ was added to the 2.6.13 kernel.

Ah, then you meant "Fedora kernel after FC5" (or sth).

You have found the bank of Larn.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
