Perhaps you only think there is no firewall. I know I've
told it to turn off the firewall on installs and found
the firewall running anyway. Do a chkconfig to see if
iptables and/or ip6tables is getting started at boot
and turn them off if they are set to run. Then there will
really be no firewall for sure.
