How can I make /dev/hdc always have a 666 permission instead of the default 600?

I can change it, but after the next reboot it is back to 600 again.

Check /etc/udev/permissions.d/50-udev.permissions

Mine has this for cdroms:

cdroms/*:root:disk:0660

What does yours say?

Ooops! Sorry, that was from a CentOS4 box. My Fedora FC5 box has a completely different udev setup and I don't understand how it works.
