I have burned my x86-64 DVD sucessfully and it's test after booting with
it passes.

None of the CDs for i386 have passed.  I've tried -overburn in k3b and
on cdrecord from the command line.  The CDs are being recorded on the
same burner as the DVD was burned on.  Any guesses or things I can
check?

When you perform your install on the grub command line set "ide=nodma" so that your system can pass the media check.

Search for "No dma after install" or the generic "mediacheck" in the list archives.
