Hello guys,
I am having a strange problem using K3B on fedora core 3/4.
I have a Philips DVD writer 16X/8Xrw 40x for cd in my machine and
whenever I burn dvds K3B won't recognize the full capabilities of my
burner.
Even if I choose auto mode for dvd writing speed k3b still writes at 8x
maximum and there is no mention in the speed section of the 16x choice.
Is there anyway I can I can hack k3b configuration in order to get this
feature enabled?

Umm, it takes longer to write than to read. The disc has to cool
somewhat. This is especially true for rewritables. I have a stack
of rewritables in my hand right now, which have ON THE DISCS THEMSELVES
that they only write at 4x.

YMMV

You have found the bank of Larn.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
