I have an AMD64 64 bit processor machine will fedora run on it?

Yep - really well. Use the x86_64 version.

Or the i386 build. I have both installed, with a shared data partition. That way I can start developing 64-bit stuff but can drop back to a full 32-bit installation for apps with outstanding compatibility issues. I'm doing some game development with a commercial engine that's not yet 64-bit ready and for that I boot into the 32-bit system. (The system is actually triple-boot, with WinXP64 installed.)
