The last message, "Warning: ATI ..." has been displayed sinse older kernel.
I filed a bug report on this(severity=high), since my own Compaq laptop
also has boot problems with this kernel.
The kernel halts during IDE probing, always at the same place. I'm about
to try the vanilla 2.6.12.2, but haven't finished configuring it, yet.
