Re: Advice on upgrading RH7.3 to FC3 (or 4)?

That is a pretty wide chasm to cross with a straight upgrade. If a total loss of the system's functionality would be a bad thing, then my suggestion would be to go RH 7.3 --> RH 9 --> FC1 --> FC2 --> FC3.

Otherwise, backup your critical info and build FC3 from scratch and then restore your configs and files. This will require some tweaking, but at least you will then have good confidence as to the base installation.

Good luck!

Hi,

Has anyone got any comments on how to upgrade a RedHat 7.3 machine to
Fedora?

I figure using yum might be troublesome. Would doing a CD upgrade be
safer?

Should I go straight to FC3 or go step by step: RH73 -> RH9 -> FC1 ->
FC2 ->FC3

Any thoughts or experience would be great.

Thanks,
Matt.
