[Fwd: Add Packages Fails w/ CD-ROM]

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

 I run into the following problems when trying to add packages when
using the FC3
1. I run system-config-packages
2. I select the pkgs to install
3. prompted for CD
4. install CD in DVD-ROM drive
5. I receive a notice that the CD-rom can't be read

Nothing I do like remounting the DVD_ROM drive will allow the
CD-ROM to be read. I have done all the self installations CD
media tests when I installed FC3, but for some reason I can not
get the pkg installer to read the CD.
 Also is there a way to get the system-config-packages to
look into a specific directory instead of the CD-ROM. I have
plenty of space on the HD's so I would like to copy all the
RPM's into /opt/rpms and just have system-config-packages
look there to install rpm pkgs.
