or at least explain what type of errors you got...saying "it doesn't work
out of the box" really leaves us blindfolded.  It could be anything from
hardware errors to a badly burned disk.

I also can testify FC2 works "out of the box" or "out of the CD-burner"
so to speak.

Maybe a good point to check is an How-To manual on installing Linux in
general and prepare yourself.  You can find very usefull documents/info
on the website of the Linux Documentation Project.
