kernel 2.6.5-1.327 initrd problem fc1

Hi

I downloaded kernel-source-2.6.5-1.327.rpm in order to configure &
install in my fc1 running 2.6.1, but once I is built is time to:

mkinitrd -v -f /boot/initrd-2.6.5-1.327.img 2.6.5-1.327

it does not found the device-mapper in the kernel, but initrd gets
done, but when i boot the new kernel it stops right after mounting
/dev/hda1, pivot_root does nothing, it just does not start init, this
kernel is well configured with everything modular almost identical to
the usual rh kernel in /configs I only removed some modules support for
devices I dont have.

so wtf?
