I suggest you insert a modeline into the XF86Config in the section
Monitor. modeline generators are online available at

1) http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl

2) http://koala.ilog.fr/cgi-bin/nph-colas-modelines

3) http://www.sh.nu/nvidia/gtf.php

Please be careful to not destroy your monitor with wrong values!
