That's the port for updating the CPU microcode.  I get this message on my
old P166, and I assume it's because it doesn't have updatable microcode.

The former is a SCSI disk and the latter is a PTY.  Not sure why they are
turning up, but the messages might well be benign.

Nope.  What kind of mouse, and what's in /etc/sysconfig/mouse?  Does it
work or not in X or on the console?  Is gpm running?  If it's not working
in X what mouse-related is in /etc/X11/XF86Config, and what mouse-related
is in /var/log/XFree86.0.log or /var/log/XFree86.setup.log?
