The Live distros have only a limited set of software. Presumably Perl is
on the KDE version because it's needed for something, and it's not
needed on the Gnome one. Just run "yum install perl".

[Also, it's not FC14 but F14. The Fedora distros haven't been "FC" for
several years now (though the packages still have fc in their names for
backwards compatibility reasons).]
