I start another thread but i think i am very near FC14 Installation Hangs I am on F13 and i try to preupgrade to F14. My is a notebbok, Presario C750 no esotheric harware, then, and not so old, even if not a recent one. I did preupgrade from F8, upgrading until F13 each time without any issue, w/out reinstalling. After preupgrade finish to download packages, system restart and during restart it hangs with black screen. I can see kernel boot but lines are very very fast. This is /boot/grub/grub.conf #boot=/dev/sda default=1 timeout=25 splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz # hiddenmenu title Upgrade to Fedora 14 (Laughlin) kernel /upgrade/vmlinuz preupgrade repo=hd::/var/cache/yum/preupgrade ks=hd:UUID=c46f0b8e-ea34-47f5-8c7f-57a7f3a5d531:/upgrade/ks.cfg stage2=http://fedora.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/fedora/linux/releases/14/Fedora/i386/os/images/install.img initrd /upgrade/initrd.img title Fedora (2.6.34.7-66.fc13.i686) root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.34.7-66.fc13.i686 ro root=UUID=cf7cd8e9-13c6-4997-88cf-2b2e917736fb rhgb quiet SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 LANG=en_US.UTF-8 KEYTABLE=us initrd /initramfs-2.6.34.7-66.fc13.i686.img 2 question: Fist question: is ok that under title Upgrade to Fedora 14 (Laughlin) there is no root (hd0,0) like in title Fedora (2.6.34.7-66.fc13.i686)? should i add that line manually after title Upgrade to Fedora 14 (Laughlin)? Second question: i read Alan's suggetion "Remove the 'quiet' add irqpoll initcall_debug" in previuos post; ok, should i add them to kernel /upgrade/vmlinuz preupgrade [..] line? thnx for help -- maurizio -- users mailing list users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines
