  More likely this is your kde session - I don't use kde at the moment
but there used to be a ~/.kde/Autostart - check if skype installed
itself in there.

  The directory may have moved ... but hopefully it helps.

  There also used to be (kde 3.5) a GUI to control which programs are
autostarted ...
