I haven't heard anything from them in a while. It should be safe to work
on it. (The ks file also isn't in the spin-kickstarts package.)

While bringing it up on the list can be useful for collaboration with people
working on other spins, the future direction of the SIG is unknown. Some
people are supposed to discuss that at the Tempe FUDCON.

Contacting the GIS SIG (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/GIS) might also prove
useful for you.
