I'm not so sure it is gmail that is filtering it out.
I think it is the list server itself.
Gmail does not keep track of email content to see
if it was the same message that sent by the user,
coming back to the user.
I wonder if there is a way to configure one's account
on the list server to not exclude the sender when
a message is broadcast to the rest of the list.
