Please can you provide more info? IT was working before? php and mysql versions, packages installed? when mysql stops working with php? after any update?

It was a fresh installed machine that has been a dormant rsync'ed mirrored machine. Unfortunately I am not sure it ever worked.

PHP Version 5.2.13
mysql-5.1.37-1.fc11.i586
php-mysql-5.2.13-1.fc11.i586

I have an F11 system.

I have several PHP apps that use MySQL including MediaWiki but they are failing to work giving error 500

phpinfo() is working and showing MySQL.

When I try to connect to it I get the following error :-

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)

Have have done a 'service mysqld start' and the 'mysql' command line looks fine.

Many thanks in advance,

Aaron
