I connected my kodak camera to usb, and this error banner popped up, saying: Unable to mount KODAK EasyShare V1253 Zoom Digital Camera Error initializing camera: -60: Could not lock the device However, two icons appear on the desktop. Both are named: KODAK EasyShare V1253 Zoom Digital Camera One is for the small internal storage (a few hundred megabytes) and the other is for the 8GB flash card. Browsing the 8GB flash, I am unable to view the videos. Double clicking on the the video icon and "movie player" pops up the error banner: An error occurred Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file. So I tried to explicitly open it with VLC. VLC popped up the error banner: File reading failed: VLC could not open the file "/home/jd/.gvfs/gphoto2 mount on usb%3A002,006/store_00010001/DCIM/100V1253/000_0018.MOV". Your input can't be opened: VLC unable to open the MRL 'file:///home/jd/.gvfs/gphoto2%20mount%20on%20usb%253A002%2C006/store_00010001/DCIM/100V1253/000_0018.MOV'. Check the log for details. $ ls -la ~ | grep gvfs /bin/ls: cannot access /sdb3/home/jd/.gvfs: Transport endpoint is not connected d?????????? ? ? ? ? ? .gvfs/ So, on the face of it, it looks like it might be a gvfs problem. $ rpm -q gvfs gvfs-1.6.2-1.fc13.i686 This update came in a couple of days ago.
