I saved the tar file to /tmp/firefox-4.0b1.tar.bz2
I cd'ed to /usr/local/lib
tar -jxpf /tmp/firefox-4.0b1.tar.bz2
then I ran
/usr/local/lib/firefox/firefox

and it came right up and resumed my saved sassion from FF 3.6.

Nothin' to it.
