$ uname -r 2.6.32.11-99.fc12.i686.PAE my f12 also has an empty modprobe.conf. [byers@f12 ~]$ sudo ls -l /etc/modprobe.conf -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 0 2010-05-10 10:27 /etc/modprobe.conf when rebooting (not often) I see warning messages re modprobe.conf being deprecated. But these warning msgs not seen in /var/log/messages. I have not run s-c-n in this f12, but I did recently change to a static ip under NetworkManager; to do that I had to modify ifcfg-eth0. I don't know if the presence of modprobe.conf occurred only after that change or was already there. That May 10 timestamp maybe means it came with that change. My f10, static ip, using network not NM, has no modprobe.conf My f11, running default NM, has no modprobe.conf HTH Jack -- users mailing list users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines
