Dear Folks, On this iMac, I have: $ lspci -nn | grep -i audio 00:08.0 Audio device [0403]: nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio [10de:0ac0] (rev b1) 02:00.1 Audio device [0403]: ATI Technologies Inc R700 Audio Device [Radeon HD 4000 Series] [1002:aa38] No sound comes from the speakers, nor the headphone jack. pavucontrol shows long sound bars appearing on either output device when each is made the default, but there is no output I can hear. Volume controls turned up fully. $ lsmod | grep snd snd_hda_codec_atihdmi 4160 1 snd_hda_intel 29144 5 snd_hda_codec 71856 2 snd_hda_codec_atihdmi,snd_hda_intel snd_hwdep 9128 1 snd_hda_codec snd_seq 57984 0 snd_seq_device 7588 1 snd_seq snd_pcm 81544 3 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec snd_timer 22512 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm snd 67160 16 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_hwdep,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm,snd_timer soundcore 7152 1 snd snd_page_alloc 9536 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm 1. Has anyone had success with the sound on a recent iMac? 2.
