The only way I was able to get rid of most (don't know if I got rid of all of it) was to remove the components, applets, etc. individually, least important first, keeping track of what was removed in the process, so I could reinstall those dependencies/apps if I needed them. This is not a perfect solution. It is almost easier to reinstall the OS and choose not to install KDE than to attempt uninstalling. Yum needs to be made smarter regarding uninstalling.
