Today, with low cost drives, a regular backup is always a good alternative. We can debate where to backup to (offsite, removable drive, non-removable) and what to back up. The bottom line is that an online update whether a simple routine update or an upgrade to a new release, Murphy is always with us. My recent experience in trying to create a RAID1 did require me to have to reinstall from scratch. But, I've been a believer of backups since I was burned a few times before I even heard of Unix (ie. mid-1970s). -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@xxxxxxx> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846
