Rebooting did resolve the problem.  One thing I noticed though was that pulseaudio was pegged at 100% so it's possible this might have been part of the problem since TB does have libaudiofile open.  Next time it happens I'll check the open files at the time of the hang.  This problem occurred after the latest set of updates.

What does "lsof -p 480" tell you that file descriptor corresponds to?

And what files does 482 have open?
