Is there another way to make partitions bootable other than using
Windows installation CD/DVD/floppies?
fdisk part of util-linux-ng.
# fdisk /dev/sdxx
'm' for help
'a' to toggle boot flag
'w' write table to disk and exit

...dex
Um, perhaps I was not too clear...

What I meant is, to put the MBR on the 12 or 13th
partition, not simply to set the partition as "active",
and I can do that with gparted (which is called the
"boot" flag).

Thanks,
Dan
