For as long as I can remember, any install of Fedora or RedHat before it has put launchers for Computer and my home folder on the desktop -- even the Live CDs do it. On one F11 machine, mine disappeared the other day. I have no idea how or why. I've grown accustomed to their use, and have tried to get them back. I don't know what I did, but they now appear on one (only one!) of my dozen-and-a-half workspaces. And I can't seem to find a way to tell the machine to put them on all.
