Just wanted to report that I tried out the 64 bit Game spin Live DVD, installed mesa-dri-drivers-experimental as Bruno had suggested, and everything was almost perfect. I could even join a quakelive match and spectate. (for some odd reason it didn't recognise my keystrokes leaving no option but to spec) I also started up stellarium nigth sky viewer, it ran very smoothly although it did crash everytime I clicked a drop down menu. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely keep trying it out from time to time along with my proprietary drivers and switch permanently as soon as it plays my favourite games without much trouble. :) Thank you radeon devs. :) -- Suvayu Open source is the future.
