I just checked my fedora 12 beta /boot and du -s says it is 34M. Not
sure where the 500M requirement might come from unless it is gonna grow
a lot by the final f12 release.

From what I could understand from bug 510970 [1] all this space might be needed only during the installation. If that's right and after installation only the usual ~50M should be necessary, I hope this will change before F12 is released, because it really doesn't seem to make any sense, there should be a better way IMHO.
