Was "Hopefully with a 2.6.31 or later kernel" really unclear? :-)
Anyway, I was too optimistic -- the LP phy support doesn't appear
until 2.6.32...  In the meantime you may want to try using the
compat-wireless stuff:

	http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Download
