PulseAudio help needed

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi everybody,

I come to you tonight to ask the PulseAudio/ALSA experts to advise me. The system sees audio device. As seen here:

[root@localhost ~]# cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Riptide ]: RIPTIDE - Riptide
Riptide at 0x1040, irq 10 mpu 0x330 opl3 0x388 gameport 0x200
[root@localhost ~]#

I see the (intigrated) card:

[root@localhost ~]# lspci -v
...
00:0e.0 Multimedia audio controller: Rockwell International Device 4310
Subsystem: Risq Modular Systems, Inc. Device 4310
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10
I/O ports at 1040 [size=64]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 1
Kernel driver in use: RIPTIDE
Kernel modules: snd-riptide

...
[root@localhost ~]#

The Kernel Modules are loading:

[root@localhost ~]# /sbin/lsmod |grep -c snd
14

[root@localhost ~]# /sbin/lsmod |grep riptide
snd_riptide 20236 0
snd_ac97_codec 91984 1 snd_riptide
snd_pcm 62596 2 snd_riptide,snd_ac97_codec
snd_opl3_lib 8972 1 snd_riptide
snd_page_alloc 7712 2 snd_riptide,snd_pcm
gameport 9784 2 snd_riptide
snd_mpu401_uart 6296 1 snd_riptide
snd 50336 9 snd_riptide,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm,snd_opl3_lib,snd_timer,snd_hwdep,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq_device
[root@localhost ~]#

The device is not muted:

[root@localhost ~]# alsamixer -c 0

gstreamer-properties has input and output set to PulseAudio

Still no audio. So, I ran:

[root@localhost ~]# pkill pulseaudio
[root@localhost ~]# pulseaudio --system
W: main.c: Running in system mode, but --disallow-exit not set!
W: main.c: Running in system mode, but --disallow-module-loading not set!
N: main.c: Running in system mode, forcibly disabling SHM mode!
N: main.c: Running in system mode, forcibly disabling exit idle time!
E: module-alsa-card.c: Card '0' doesn't exist: Permission denied
E: module.c: Failed to load module "module-alsa-card" (argument: "device_id=0 name=pci_127a_4310_sound_card_0 card_name=alsa_card.pci_127a_4310_sound_card_0 tsched=1"): initialization failed. W: main.c: Failed to acquire org.pulseaudio.Server: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: Connection ":1.135" is not allowed to own the service "org.pulseaudio.Server" due to security policies in the configuration file

I have attached my PA configs.

Oh yeah, my PA version is:

[root@localhost pulse]# pulseaudio --version
pulseaudio 0.9.15

Can anybody offer any advise?

Thanks,

Andrew
