Hello list!

After upgrading to this kernel on my IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad X61S, I do not
hear the system beep in the console any more. Booting into
kernel-PAE-2.6.29.6-217.2.16.fc11.i686 fix the problem, however, I
really want to use the latest kernel, of course.

Also, I hear some scratching sound from the speaker every time I use
amixer set <device> level, and also during boot up and shut down.

Some loaded modules of interest is:

Module Size Used by
...
snd_hda_codec_analog 54884 1
snd_hda_intel 24272 0
snd_hda_codec 59428 2 snd_hda_codec_analog,snd_hda_intel
snd_hwdep 6724 1 snd_hda_codec
snd_pcm 62796 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec
snd_timer 17864 1 snd_pcm
snd 50336 6 snd_hda_codec_analog,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_hwdep,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore 5476 1 snd
snd_page_alloc 7776 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm
pcspkr 2168 0

What can I do to get back to "normal" with the new kernel?

Lars
