It appears to have an undesirable side effect, firefox-bin is stuck at 99% 
cpu despite killing it and restarting it. Several times.  I fixed a bite to 
eat and it had timed out with an advisory it was taking longer than expected 
and I could cancel, so I did.

That brought FF back to life and I selected tools>BetterPrivacy to bring up 
its prefs and un-install it.  That was about 15 minutes ago, but so far only 
the bare outline of that windows frame has been drawn

This does not appear to be a usable utility.
