I noticed resize2fs doesn't seem to work on my encrypted LVM, even the GUI tool cant do anything with the underlying filesystem.  Does anyone know what can be done about this?  I want to shrink a volume.

  # resize2fs /dev/VolGroup00/LVspare 39G
resize2fs 1.41.4 (27-Jan-2009)
resize2fs: Device or resource busy while trying to open /dev/VolGroup00/LVspare
Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock.
