Re: hplip

Hello,

I can try to remove hplip.
But, when I print, do I really use hplip ?
Do I only need a ppd file ?

Where do I get the hp-laserjet_p1005.ppd.gz file ?

Am I wrong ?

Thank.

I shouldn't really butt in,
but what is the advantage of using hplip,
as opposed to just giving the printer in CUPS?

Well, maybe I am being unfair.
I run hplip with my ancient LaserJet 5L,
because hplip suggested it could clean the print-head,
and tell me how low the cartridge was;
but in fact I find it cannot do either with this printer.
I'm just wondering if the print-quality is better,
or if there are any other advantages?
