I am running the stock os on mine, but I heavily modified it to behave like normal. I removed the acer menu, tweaked the login a bit, and set a nice background. Everything works well, and I've been using it for about 6 months now. I dind't want the hassle of wifi or something not working. If you are sending your daughter to school, the stock os might be the way to go as well.
