for research purposes, i like to stay on top of the kernel source tree and build kernels with the latest "git pull"s, using the latest /boot/config and "make oldconfig". that worked fine with 2.6.31-rc2 and -rc3 but when i built an -rc4 last night and booted, i got the first part of the boot and ... blackness. i'm about to try again to see if it's something stupid i did but has anyone else tried this and got it to boot? rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
