For the latter, I haven't found FC-11 much better or worse than previous versions; some things have got better, eg NetworkManager and KDE, others have got worse, eg sound. (CUPS has also deteriorated slightly, in my experience.) Some of the system-config programs, eg system-config-network, which didn't work at all, now work badly. I don't think anaconda has got worse, at least from FC-10 to FC-11. But it is certainly not getting better. I used to read the anaconda-development list, and in my view the whole approach is misguided, trying to do more at installation time rather than simplifying anaconda so that it works on more or less any machine. There would be a lot to be said, in my view, for a much simpler and more basic installation, followed by a second step taken on a working system.
